Build A Soccer Squad Tier List: Best Players

A ranked tier list of the best players to chase in Build A Soccer Squad, how to value cards by OVR, position and chemistry, and which to keep or reroll.

Last updated:

This Build A Soccer Squad tier list ranks the cards worth chasing so you spend currency on players that actually raise your squad rating. Because the game is a collection title with over 1,000 footballers, knowing what to prioritize — and what to feed into rerolls — is the difference between a stalled collection and a fast-climbing one.

How we rank cards

OVR (overall rating) is the headline number, but it is not the only factor. A great card in Build A Soccer Squad scores well on three things:

  • OVR — raw rating, the foundation of your squad score.
  • Position value — how rare and important the card’s position is to a complete eleven.
  • Chemistry potential — how easily the card links by nation and league with the rest of your team. Learn the system in our chemistry guide.

We combine these into simple tiers, from S (build your squad around these) down to C (reroll fuel once you are established).

S tier — the cards that define a top squad

The undisputed top of the list is the 99 OVR captain. You do not pull these from packs; you earn them by completing an entire eligible 2026 squad. They are the single best return on your currency, which is why we have a full walkthrough in how to unlock captains and a dedicated captains tier list.

Right behind them are the 100+ OVR Prime players that rotate through the hourly shop. There are around 20 available, and buying or questing for one also unlocks it to appear as a rare rolled variant. See the full breakdown on the Prime players page.

A tier — your reliable starting eleven

A-tier cards are the high-OVR modern stars and legends that slot straight into your formation without breaking chemistry. These are the players you build around before you have captains. Our best players page lists the standout picks by position.

B tier — the glue cards

B-tier cards are not flashy, but they win you points. A mid-rated defender who shares a nation and league with your back line can add more to your squad score than a higher-OVR card who links with nobody. Value these whenever they tighten your chemistry.

C tier — reroll fuel

Once your eleven is set, low-OVR duplicates and players stuck on the wrong position become reroll fuel. Do not hoard them. Feed them into the system using the timing tips in our reroll and refresh guide.

How to use this tier list day to day

  1. Pick a target team. Choose one 2026 squad to complete so you are working toward an S-tier captain.
  2. Fill A and B tiers around it. Buy or roll the high-OVR and chemistry cards your formation needs.
  3. Reroll the C tier. Convert everything else into more rolls.
  4. Re-check after updates. When a patch changes the pool, revisit this page and the updates hub.

Spend your currency where it counts

A tier list only helps if you can afford the cards on it. Pair this page with our economy guides so every coin moves you up a tier:

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best card in Build A Soccer Squad?

The strongest cards are the 99 OVR captains you unlock by completing full 2026 squads, followed by the 100+ OVR Prime players from the hourly shop. Anything in the S tier of this list is worth building around.

Should I reroll low OVR players?

Yes. Once you have a solid starting eleven, low-rated duplicates and off-position cards are reroll fuel. Keep only what improves your overall rating or chemistry.

Does OVR alone decide how good a card is?

No. A slightly lower-rated card that fixes a position gap or completes a chemistry link is often more valuable than a higher OVR card that breaks your structure.

How often does the tier list change?

The game is in active beta, so packs, prices and ratings shift with each update. We re-evaluate the rankings whenever a patch changes the player pool.
